Google Start Investing in Solar Energy Sector






Google has invested millions of euros at a solar building is located on the outskirts of Berlin, Germany.

Giant internet company said that the investment is their first project for clean energy sector in Europe. Similarly, as quoted from the Net imperative, Monday (11/04/2011).

Google says that they will be poured funds of 3.5 million Euros for the largest solar power plant in Germany, located in Brandenburg, the region around Berlin.

"Until the early era of the 90s, where it is used as a Russian military training ground. We are glad that the place already has a new function," wrote Google's party in the European Public Policy Blog.

Google also said that the place is able to provide electricity for 5 thousand houses in the surrounding area. However, these investments still require approval from authorities in Germany. Earlier in the U.S. Google has also invested in wind power projects.

This announcement comes after the German government will be busy with nuclear energy policy, in the midst of a nuclear disaster that is currently sweeping Japan.

Earlier, Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the addition of three-month validity period for 17 nuclear reactors in Germany, and the delay of seven security checks at these reactors.

"The sooner Germany to get rid of nuclear power, the better," said Chancellor Merkel.
